Protocol-Based VLAN Configuration Example
Network requirements
z As shown in Figure 2-2, Workroom connects to the LAN through port GigabitEthernet1/0/10 on the
S5100-SI/EI switch.
z IP network and AppleTalk network workstations (hosts) coexist in the Workroom.
z The S5100-SI/EI switch connects to VLAN 100 (using IP network) through GigabitEthernet1/0/11
and to VLAN 200 (using AppleTalk network) through GigabitEthernet1/0/12.
z Configure the switch to automatically assign the IP and AppleTalk packets to proper VLANs for
transmission, so as to ensure the normal communication between the workstations and servers.
