Installing Internal Components
Use these procedures to install internal components that were not factory-installed into the server
blade. Before you can install the internal components, you must remove the access panels to install
the internal components.
Removing the Access Panels
There are two access panels on the BL870c server blade. Each panel gives access to different
components on the system board. When the server blade is oriented vertically (as if mounted in
an enclosure) the panels are the right and left access panels.
The right panel enables access to the following:
• Processor slots 0 and 1
• Mezzanine slots 1, 2, and 3
• SAS backplane
• Front panel
• System battery
• TPM module
• System board
The left panel enables access to the following:
• Processor slots 2 and 3
• DIMM slots
• DIMM backplane
