After the access panel is off, you can do the following:
Add an additional processor to slot 2 or 3. For more information, see“Installing a Processor
(page 31).
Add additional memory DIMMs. For more information, see “Installing DIMMs (page 36).
Installing a Processor
Depending on which processor slot you need to access, you must remove the right access panel
or the left access panel.
The right panel gives you access to:
Processor slot 0
Processor slot 1
The left panel gives you access to:
Processor slot 2
Processor slot 3
If you need to access both sides of the server blade to install processors, install the processors on
the right side first, replace the right access cover, then remove the left access panel and install the
processors on the left side of the system board.
Depending on which processor you are installing:
For a processor on the right side of the system board, see step 2a.
For a processor on the left side of the system board, see step 2b.
To install an additional processor into the server blade:
1. Remove the appropriate access cover.
