The device supports ANSI and VT100
terminal display types. As a best practice, set
the display type to VT100 on both the device
and the configuration terminal. If either side
uses the ANSI type, a display problem such
as cursor positioning error might occur when
a command line has more than 80
characters.

the system automatically terminates the user
connection on the user line.
If you set the timeout timer to 0, the
connection will not be aged out.
Logging in through Telnet
You can Telnet to the device to remotely manage the device, or use the device as a Telnet client to
Telnet to other devices to manage them.
By default, Telnet login is disabled on the device. To log in to the device through Telnet, you must
perform the following tasks:
•
Log in to the device through any other method.
•
Enable the Telnet server.
•
Configure Telnet login authentication on the device.
