2.5-inch or 3.5-inch indicates the size of a drive bay. A 2.5-inch drive bay can house a 2.5-
inch drive, and a 3.5-inch drive bay can house a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive.

: Common drives include SAS or SATA HDDs with 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive bays and
SAS or SATA SSDs with 2.5-inch drive bays.

: The front drive bays of 8-drive conguration 1, 24-drive conguration, 25-drive
conguration 1, and 25-drive conguration 2 can only be 2.5-inch.

: 12-drive conguration 2 and 12-drive conguration 4 support only 2.5–inch rear

: When NVMe PCIe SDDs are

The number of installed front drives on a server cannot be greater than the maximum
number of front drives. For example, 12-drive
conguration 3 supports a maximum of
12 front drives. If four front NVMe PCIe SSDs are installed, only a maximum of eight
front common drives can be installed.

conguration, a RAID controller card needs to be congured for every
eight drives.

: The server where drives are connected through the Intel chipset (PCH) supports
SATAs only, an optional SoftRAID license, and SoftRAID 0, 1, and 5. The server with
SoftRAID
conguration does not support installation of a virtualization OS. If you have
any doubts about the drive conguration, contact your local Huawei sales
representatives.

: Drives can be managed by the RAID controller card or the PCH. You can select only
one of the two management modes.
