This procedure uses a backplane with twelve 3.5-inch drives as an example. The installation
method applies to other backplanes.

If dual RAID controller cards are congured, the indicator of the rear drive module can be
congured only when the CPLD version of the front drive backplane is later than V1.08.
Step 5 Connect the cable of the front drive to the server. For details, see 2.7 Internal
Cabling.
To prevent the drive backplane from being damaged, observe the following points
when you connect a 12-bay NVMe PCIe SSD extender adapter to the Slimline
cables of the drive backplane:
● Install the cable connector vertically into the drive backplane port. See (1) in
Figure 7-137.
● Connect the cables near the drive backplane
rst and then the cables at the
other end to prevent the cables near the drive backplane from being stretched.
