number

halts
may
occur
that
are
not
associated
with
any
halt
codes
shown
in
the
list.
These
halts
occur
when
an
arith-
metic
operation
is
performed
on
an
invalid
packed-decimal
operand.
The
operation
code
of
the
instruction
that
led
to
the
halt
is
then
displayed
in
the
U-L
fields.

addition
to
programmed
halts,
the
fol-
lowing
non-programmed
halts
(machine
stops)
may
occur

process
check

console.

A
machine
check
on
the
2520
Read/Punch
or
on
the
2560
MFCM

indicated
by
the
Machine
Check
light
on
the
affected
unit.
3.
A
specification
error
(programming
error
stop)

by
a
nonzero
I-field
on
the
CPU
console.
After
a
cpu
process
check
or
a
machine
check
on
the
2520
or
2560,
no
restart
pro-
cedure
can
be
used.
If
it
is
not
possible
to
resume
successful
operation
after
pres-
sing
the
System
Reset
key
on
the
cpu
and
reloading
the
interrupted
program,
the
attention
of
an
IBM
custome~
engineer
is
normally
required.

machine
stop
occurs
on
a
Submodel

resume
operation
