the eight bits of the UPSI byte. A
specification of 1 means that the
corresponding bit is to be set on. A
specification of c (any EBCDIC
character except 1 or blank) indicates
that the status of the corresponding
bit is not to be changed. Trailing CiS
need not be specified (e.g., the
specifications 1cc11ccc and 1cc11 are
equivalent) •
The VOL control statement is required when
standard IBM tape labels are to be checked
or written.
The VOL control statement has the
