9.10.10.7.2 Using the Response Factor of a Known Calibrated Compound
If the response factor of the desired compound is close to a previously calibrated
compound, a multiplication factor can be used to calibrate the desired compound.
To use the response factor of a calibrated compound:

In the calibration window, select
Manual Response
from the
Fit Type
shortcut
menu for the desired compound.

From the shortcut menu, select the compound to use as a reference (Ex. CO
2
).

In the area count field, type the known multiplication factor (Ex. 1.1).

Click the icon to save to the method.
