6.13 Valco Stream Selector
Micro GC Fusion can be paired with a Valco stream selector from VICI® (Valco®
Instruments Co. Inc.) to perform analysis on multiple gas streams. Valco stream
selector models EUH, EUD and EUT with USB option are supported.
A Valco stream selector is connected to and controlled by Micro GC Fusion via a USB
connection on the back of the instrument. The proper USB cable is provided with the
Valco stream selector.
Sample streams can be connected to the Valco stream selector with any one of the
following valve types:
• SD: Dead-ended - sample streams are dead-ended at the stream selection valve
• SC: Common outlet - all sample streams vent to a common outlet port
• SF: Flow-through - each sample stream continuously flows through the stream
selection valve
• ST: Trapping - samples are trapped in sample loops for injection
• STF: Trapping flow-through - a variation of the ST: Trapping, except the non-
selected streams are returned to their own vents or sources rather than being
trapped
