9.15 Externally Triggering Runs
Sample runs can be automatically triggered externally by electrical contact closure via
the Micro GC Fusion AUX I/O port. Refer to The AUX I/O Connector [
}95] for the AUX
I/O port configuration information.
External triggers will not work while using EZ IQ or OpenLab EZChrom.
9.15.1 Start Run(s)
To start a run externally through AUX I/O:
1
Load the desired method or sequence on the Micro GC Fusion. Refer to Run
Method [}176] for the detailed procedure.
2
Close the corresponding pins on the AUX I/O connector to trigger the
REMOTE_START action. Refer to The AUX I/O Connector [}95] for the AUX I/O
pinouts and contact closure actions.
If a run is in progress when the external triggering action is issued, the external
triggering action is discarded.
The name of the run will be defaulted to the loaded method name or the loaded
sequence name.
9.15.2 Cancel Sequence
To cancel a sequence externally through AUX I/O, close corresponding pins on the
AUX I/O connector to trigger the REMOTE_CANCEL action.
If a sequence is in progress, the current run will proceed to completion. The rest of the
sequence will be aborted and the instrument will return to the
ready
state.
