5.6Useonpublicroads
Ifyouwishtouseyourmobilitydeviceonpublicroadsandlightingis
requiredbynationallegislation,thenyourmobilitydeviceneedsto
befittedwithanappropriatelightingsystem.
ContactyourInvacaredealerifyouhaveanyquestions.
5.7Pushingthemobilitydeviceinfreewheel
mode
Themotorsofthemobilitydeviceareequippedwithautomatic
brakes,preventingthatthemobilitydevicestartsrollingoutof
controlwhentheremoteisswitchedoff.Whenpushingthemobility
devicemanuallywhilstfreewheeling,themagneticbrakesmustbe
disengaged.
Pushingthemobilitydevicebyhandmayrequiremore
physicalforcethanexpected(morethan100N).The
necessaryforceneverthelesscomplieswiththerequirements
ofISO7176-14:2008.
5.7.1Disengagingmotors(conventionalmotors)
CAUTION!
Riskofinjuryfromhotmotorsurfaces
Avoidtouchingthemotorsurfaceswhenengagingor
disengaging.
CAUTION!
Riskofthemobilitydevicerunningaway
Whenthemotorsaredisengaged(forpushoperation
whilstfreewheeling),theelectromagneticmotor
brakesaredeactivated.Whenthemobilitydeviceis
parked,theleversforengaginganddisengagingthe
motorsmustwithoutfailbelockedfirmlyintothe
"DRIVE"position(electromagneticmotorbrakes
activated).
Themotorsmayonlybedisengagedbyanattendant,not
bytheuser.
Thisensuresthatthemotorsareonlydisengagedifan
attendantisavailabletosecurethewheelchairandprevent
unintendedrolling.
Eachmotorisfittedwithanengagingleverwhichisusedtoengage
ordisengagethemotor.
