8.2.4Howtodisconnectthebatteriesaftercharging
1.Oncechargingiscomplete,firstdisconnectthebatterycharger
fromthepowersupply,thendisconnecttheplugfromthe
remote.
8.2.5StorageandMaintenance
Followtheinstructionslistedbelowtoensuresafeuseandlongevity
ofthebatteries:
•Alwaysstorethebatteriesfullycharged.
•Donotleavethebatteriesinalowstateofchargeforan
extendedlengthoftime.Chargeadischargedbatteryassoon
aspossible.
•Incaseyourmobilitydeviceisnotusedforalongerperiod
oftime(thatismorethantwoweeks),thebatteriesmustbe
chargedatleastonceamonthtomaintainafullchargeand
alwaysbechargedbeforeuse.
•Avoidhotandcoldextremeswhenstoring.Werecommendto
storebatteriesatatemperatureof15°C.
•GelandAGMbatteriesaremaintenance-free.Anyperformance
issuesshouldbehandledbyaproperlytrainedmobilitydevice
technician.
8.2.6Instructionsonusingthebatteries
CAUTION!
Riskofdamagingthebatteries.
–Avoidultra-deepdischargesandneverdrainyour
batteriescompletely.
•PayattentiontotheBatteryChargeIndicator!Chargethe
batterieswhentheBatteryChargeIndicatorshowsthatbattery
chargeislow.
Howfastthebatteriesdischargedependsonmany
circumstances,suchasambienttemperature,conditionofthe
surfaceoftheroad,tirepressure,weightofthedriver,wayof
drivingandutilisationoflighting,iffitted.
•TrytochargethebatteriesalwaysbeforeyoureachtheredLED
range.
Thelast3LED(tworedandoneorange)meanaremaining
capacityofabout15%.
•DrivingwithflashingredLED’smeansanextremestressforthe
batteryandshouldbeavoidedundernormalcircumstances.
•WhenonlyoneredLEDisflashing,theBatterySafefeature
isenabled.Fromthistime,speedandaccelerationisreduced
drastically.Itwillallowyoutomovethemobilitydeviceslowly
outofadangeroussituationbeforetheelectronicfinallycutsoff.
Thisisdeepdischargingandshouldbeavoided.
•Beawarethatfortemperaturesbelow20°C,thenominal
batterycapacitystartstodecline.Forexample,at-10°C
thecapacityisreducedtoabout50%ofthenominalbattery
capacity.
•Toavoiddamagingthebatteries,neverallowthemtobefully
discharged.Donotdriveonheavilydischargedbatteriesifitis
notabsolutelynecessary,asthiswillstrainthebatteriesunduly
andshortentheirlifeexpectancy.
•Theearlieryourechargethebatteries,thelongertheylive.
