Theposturalbeltisusedtohelpthemobilitydeviceuserkeepan
optimumsittingposition.Correctuseofthebeltassiststheuser
insittingsecurely,comfortablyandwell-positionedinthemobility
device,especiallyforsuchuserswhodonothavesuchagoodsense
ofbalancewhilesitting.
NOTE
–Werecommendusingtheposturalbeltwhenever
themobilitydeviceisused.Thebeltshouldbetight
enoughtoensurethatyouaresittingcomfortablyand
thatyourbodyisinthecorrectsittingposition.
6.9.1Typesofposturalbelts
Yourwheelchaircanbefittedwiththefollowingposturalbelttypes
ex-works.Ifyourwheelchairhasbeenfittedwithadifferentbelt
tothoselistedbelow,pleaseensurethatyouhavereceivedthe
manufacturer'sdocumentationwithregardtocorrectfittinganduse.
Beltwithmetalbuckle,adjustableoneside
Beltcanonlybeadjustedononesidewhichcanresultinthebuckle
notsittingcentrally.
Beltwithmetalbuckle,adjustablebothsides
Beltcanbeadjustedonbothsides.Thismeansthatthebucklecanbe
centrallypositioned.
6.9.2Adjustingtheposturalbeltcorrectly
1.Ensurethatyouaresittingcorrectly,whichmeansthatyouare
sittingrightatthebackoftheseat,yourpelvisispositionederect
andassymmetricallyaspossible,nottothefront,tothesideor
atoneedgeoftheseat.
2.Positiontheposturalbeltsothatyourhipbonescanbeeasily
feltabovethebelt.
3.Adjustthebeltlengthusingoneoftheadjustmentaidsdescribed
above.Thebeltshouldbeadjustedsothatyoucanfitaflathand
betweenthebeltandyourbody.
4.Thebuckleshouldbepositionedascentrallyaspossible.Indoing
so,carryoutadjustmentsonbothsidesasmuchaspossible.
5.Checkyourbelteveryweektoensurethatitisstillingood
workingcondition,toensureithasnodamageorwear,and
thatitisfixedproperlytothemobilitydevice.Ifthebelt
isonlyfastenedwithaboltedconnection,ensurethatthe
connectionhasnotloosenedorcomeundone.Youcanfind
