Warning Signs and Symbols
Certain procedures within this document can cause safety hazards during the installation
or operation of the device. Refer to the safety warnings in this document when performing
these procedures. Safety signs are also located on the device where applicable.
Warnings contain signal words for the severity of the hazard, the type and/or source of
the hazard, the consequence of non-compliance and the measures to avoid or reduce the
hazard. A safety warning is marked by one of the following warning signs:
Type and/or source of hazard.
Indicates a hazardous situation which will result in death or serious
injury if not avoided.
 Measures to avoid the hazard.
 Can be supplemented by an additional warning sign or symbol.
Type and/or source of hazard.
Indicates a hazardous situation which may result in death or serious
injury if not avoided.
 Measures to avoid the hazard.
 Can be supplemented by an additional warning sign or symbol.
Type and/or source of hazard.
Indicates a hazardous situation which may result in minor or moderate
injury if not avoided.
 Measures to avoid the hazard.
 Can be supplemented by an additional warning sign or symbol.
Type and/or source of information.
Indicates information with no hazard present and no risk of personal injury.
 Description of the information.
 Can be supplemented by an additional symbol.
Informative message, prerequisite or recommend procedure.
