3.1 Digital Demod Measurement
Meas Offset Reference
Selects the reference position of segment2 from the following two selections:
–
Relative To Capture (Default Setting) - Enables you to specify the segment2
offset from the start of the acquisition data
–
Relative To Sync Pattern - Enables you to specify the segment2 offset from the
start position of the sync pattern
Remote Command

Notes Relative To Sync Pattern is only available when sync search is on, otherwise it’s grayed out

Equalizer
Turns the adaptive equalization filter on or off. Adaptive equalization uses the
measured signal to determine the coefficients of the equalization filter.
When equalization is on, the equalization filter has a unit impulse response. The
length of the filter determines the position of the unit impulse response in the filter.
The impulse is located in the center of the filter for short filter lengths. As the filter
length increases, the impulse moves, proportionally, towards the start of the filter to
handle channels with large delay-spread.
If Adaptive is set to run, the instrument uses the results of the current measurement
to update the filter coefficients for the next measurement. The instrument chooses
coefficients that produce a modulation quality metric that is less impacted by the
presence of linear distortion.
If Adaptive is set to hold, the instrument does not update the filter coefficients.
Instead, the instrument uses the last updated coefficients before selecting hold.
You can select run or hold at any time to continue or stop updating filter coefficients.
Note that the instrument does not redefine the equalization filter to have a unit
impulse response when you select run or when you turn the equalization filter off
and then on; instead, the instrument uses the last updated filter coefficients.
