Maintenance
Replace Radiator Hoses Replace Radiator Hoses
Radiator hoses should be replaced if worn or frayed.
(See Section 7, Illustrated Parts List (IPL) for hose
and component replacement part numbers.) Access
the radiator from the top engine access panel.
NOTE: Inspect the radiator and oil coolers daily. If
needed, wash out using a low-pressure water
hose once the engine has cooled down.
Dirty or plugged radiators and oil
coolers will cause engine or hydraulic overheat
conditions.
This procedure should only be
performed when the machine is not running.
DO NOT remove the radiator cap while
the engine is still hot. The radiator is under pressure
serious injury can occur if removed while hot.
1. Turn off ignition, remove key, and allow the engine to
cool down.
2. Carefully remove the radiator surge tank cap.
3. Remove plug under the radiator tank and drain
radiator uid into a container large enough to hold
5.5 gallons.
4. Remove the upper and lower hoses by loosening
the hose clamps on each.
5. Disconnect hoses and inspect for damage.
If clamps are not damaged, retain to reinstall (or
replace if damaged).
6. Install new hoses and reconnect with hose clamps.
FUEL SYSTEM
Fuel TankFuel Tank
The fuel level is indicated on the digital display fuel
gauge. Always ll the fuel tank at the end of the work day
to prevent condensation. The green fuel cap is located
on the right side of the paver in front of the spray down
hose reel.
Fill up with low-sulfer diesel fuel at the
end of the day to reduce condensation in the tank.
Diesel fuel is highly FLAMMABLE.
DO NOT smoke while lling the fuel tank. Fill the
fuel tank in a designated area that provides proper
ventilation with a re extinguisher available.
Explosion Hazard! Never ll the fuel
tank near an open ame, or near equipment that can
create sparks. Never check fuel level or fuel system
components near an open ame.
Explosion Hazard! Stop the engine
immediately if any fuel leakage is noted. DO NOT
start the engine until the leak has been corrected.
To ll the fuel tank:
1. Stop engine.
2. Remove fuel cap from fuel tank.
3. Fill with diesel fuel until full.
4. Replace fuel cap.
Change Fuel FilterChange Fuel Filter
The fuel lter, water separator and fuel pump with bowl
lter are conveniently located together on the engine
access door in the hopper. (Figure 5-22)
DO NOT change the fuel lter while
the engine is running.
The fuel lter is a 1-micron lter that
can only be purchased from LeeBoy or Kubota.
Tighten the fuel lter as directed on by
the lter manufacturer. DO NOT overtighten the fuel
lter element onto the lter head.
