Auger Drive ChainsAuger Drive Chains
The two auger chains should be snug, but never loose.
Check the drive chain tension regularly, especially if the
augers start to become sluggish. (See Page 5-49 for
slack tension adjustment.)
You can access the auger drive chains under the spray
down tank. The adjustment bolts are directly behind the
spray down shut-off valve.
If the chains need to be tightened, follow this procedure:
1. Loosen the motor bolts on the right and left auger
chains. (Figure 5-10)
2. Loosen jam nuts and turn the tension adjusters
counterclockwise to tighten chains.
3. Once adjusted, retighten motor bolts and jam nuts.

Screed Extension Top GuideScreed Extension Top Guide
1. Retract both screed extensions completely using
the left and right extensions In/Out levers on the left
controls.
2. Loosen the ve 1/2-inch bolts across the extension
back plate. (Figure 5-11)
3. Push guide down against the slide plate and tighten
set screws on the top guide until snug, starting from
the outside and working toward the center on each
extension.
Adjust top guide to allow for .008-inch
clearance across.
4. Retighten the ve bolts, securing top guides to
specication.
5. Adjust set screws until proper setting is achieved if
needed.
6. Refer to Torque Tables in Section 2 to torque bolts.
7. Spray slides with copper-based anti-seize lubricant.
8. Check operation and adjust further if needed.
