5. Jack up the paver about two feet for enough
clearance to allow the front idler to roll out.
Crush hazard! ALWAYS use safety
blocks in addition to jack when working under the
paver to prevent serious injury or even death.
6. Remove the undercarriage idler from the rod. The
front idler and bearings will slide out. (Figure 5-43)

7. Install new front idler, ensuring undercarriage idlers
and bearings are aligned properly.
8. Reinstall tracks using Steps 5 - 11 on the previous
page.
Track Tension CylinderTrack Tension Cylinder
1. Follow Steps 1-4 in the previous section. The track
tension cylinder is located behind the front idler.
2. Pull the track tension cylinder toward the front to
remove the hose from the bottom of the cylinder.
3. Repack the seal kit or replace cylinder if worn, and
reinstall.
4. Install idler, ensuring cylinder and clip pin are
aligned properly.
5. Lower sprocket back down toward the track
chain,ensuring the sprocket is about one (1) inch
from the chain.
Track RollersTrack Rollers
1. Raise conveyor and insert safety prop. (Page 5-5)
2. Release track tension by screwing the relief
cartridge out of the manifold (about three turns or
until you hear the pressure release).
3. Jack up the paver at least two feet (off the ground
for enough clearance under the undercarriage to
perform this procedure.

4. Remove the faulty rollers and replace with new
ones.
5. Torque bolt. (See Torque Specications in
Section 2)
6. Ensure the track chain is fully seated with the drive
sprocket and rollers are aligned with chain center.
7. Tighten tension relief.
8. Lower paver to the ground and start machine. Track
tension will automatically adjust when machine is
started.
9. Ensure the track chain remains fully seated with
drive sprocket and rollers aligned with the chain
center.
