Operation
Power Crown OptionPower Crown Option
The Power Crown option automatically adjusts the posi-
tive or negative crown as needed.
The power crown option can only be used on the right
screed extension. The power crown selector switch
is located on the side of the electric heat control box.
(Figure 4-69)
To use the power crown feature:
1. Turn power crown selector switch ON to activate
the power crown.
2. The right extension switch on the remote control
box now controls the power crown feature.
3. Turn the power crown selector switch OFF when not
using this feature in order to extend/retract the right
screed extension.

HD815 (Heavy Duty) ScreedHD815 (Heavy Duty) Screed
The Legend 815HD Screed option offers numerous
features for paving professionals. The main screed
and screed extensions are electrically heated by two
S-curve elements on the main screed and one 1000-
watt element on each screed extension. The screed
and extensions are equipped with replaceable, heavy-
duty wear plates. Dual vibrators, heavy-duty ight
screws, heavy-duty crown-and-valley mechanism, and a
3-Adjuster AOA with vertical height adjustment for even
more screed control.
Truck Hitch Attachment OptionTruck Hitch Attachment Option
The truck hitch is an optional attachment that prevents
excessive and uneven braking from the paving material
truck. (Figure 4-68)

To engage the hitch with the rear wheels of the asphalt
truck:
1. Move the truck hitch selector valve from the con-
veyor lift position to the truck hitch position as
shown in Figure 4-67.

1. Extend the arm extensions of the truck hitch by
pushing and holding the Truck Hitch button in the
OUT position.
2. The paving material truck then SLOWLY backs up to
the paver until the hitch makes contact with the rear
tires of the truck.
3. Retract the arm extension by pushing and holding
the Truck Hitch switch in the IN position until both
guide rollers are fully locked onto the truck wheel
rims.
NOTE: It may be necessary to adjust the roller guides
to the inside of the wheel rims.
NOTE: Be sure to push the selector valve back up to
raise and lower the conveyor bed. (Page 5-5)
