Conveyor Wear PlatesConveyor Wear Plates
There are four wear plates on the conveyor. Spraying
down the hopper before and after paving prevents
asphalt buildup that can damage or clog the wear plates.

If the conveyor wear plate(s) needs to be replaced,
follow these procedures:
1. Position paver on a ramp.
2. Remove all guards over the conveyor oor and front
lip panel.
3. Remove main conveyor chains.
4. Remove front conveyor idlers.
5. Remove bolts from rear tube assemblies.
6. Remove the 24 bolts holding the oor onto the
frame.
7. Using a hoist, lift wear plate out of the paver.
8. Clean the frame.
9. Insert new conveyor plate onto the frame.
10. Coat the bolts with thread-locking adhesive, tighten
the new conveyor plate to the frame and torque.
(See Torque Tables in Section 2).
11. Place rear drive assembly back in place.
12. Place thread-locking adhesive on bolts. Tighten
adjuster against assembly to keep from slipping.
13. Place front idler assemblies back into place.
14. Place main conveyor chains in and adjust chain
tension. Once adjusted, torque all idler hold-down
bolts. (See Torque Tables in Section 2).
15. Adjust tension bolts tight against assembly when
done and lock jam nuts.
16. Place all guards over conveyor chains and front lip
panel.
17. Grease bearings by using grease blocks on each
side below hopper wing.
NOTE: Remove the inner seals from replaced
bearings in the tubes to allow grease to
enter into the bearing area.
Under Auger Material Cut-OffsUnder Auger Material Cut-Offs
1. Remove clevis pin that connects the cut-off cylinder
to the cut-off. (Figure 5-42)
2. Remove roll pin from the cut-off hinge.
3. Insert a 3/8” bolt in the end of the hinge to remove
the hinge pin (inside hinge). Cut-off will slide down.
4. Clean area around the cut-off hinge.
5. Realign cut-off hinge.
6. Grease and insert new hinge pin.
7. Reinsert roll pin into outer cut-off hinge.
8. Reconnect cylinder to cut-off.
