Reinstalling Hood
1. Lift hood into position, then bolt onto the paver.
2. Reconnect light and beacon wires.
3. Reconnect the air breather to the turbo.
4. Start engine and allow it to run 10 minutes before
moving the paver to prevent damage from a dry-
start.
5. Check hydraulic oil level and add more if needed.
Screed Extension Wear Plates
1. Extend the screed completely.
2. Remove the endgate by disconnecting tilt screw.
3. Remove the jam nut.
4. Remove the two bolts at the endgate bracket.
5. Slide endgate off stud.
Angle-of-Attack
Adjustor
Figure 5-30 Wear Plate Anchor Bolts
6. Remove bolt from the angle-of-attack adjuster on
top of wear plate (Figure 5-30).
7. Locate and unplug the element power wire. Ensure
the wire won’t interfere when the screed plate is
removed.
8. Inspect all plugs, pins and wires for damage.
Replace if needed.
9. Lower screed to the ground and drive out the front
pivot rod. (Figure 5-31)
Pumps and Hood
1. Disconnect the air breather from the turbo.
2. Remove the front, rear, and side bolts attaching the
hood.
3. Unplug the beacon and front work lights.
4. Turn off all valves on the hydraulic tank.
5. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses on the pumps that
are to be removed.
6. Disconnect wires at the electronic displacement
control if removing drive pump.
Pumps are very heavy. ALWAYS use a
hoist to lift pumps.
7. Attach a hoist to the pump being removed.
8. Remove the bolts holding the main pump to the
engine and slide out the faulty pump.
9. Check the drive coupling for wear or damage.
10. Remove all bolts and pull out the coupling from the
ywheel.
11. Clean the ywheel and threaded bolt holes with
ether.
12. Install the new drive coupling into the ywheel.
13. Cover bolts with thread-locking adhesive and
torque. (See Section 2, Torque Tables)
14. Grease the coupling and pump splines.
Load Sense/Charge Pumps
1. Check O-rings and insert the charge pump into the
main pumps.
2. Torque bolts. (See Section 2, Torque Tables)
3. Connect all wires.
4. Be sure hoses and ttings are clean, then
reconnect.
5. Turn on valves.
6. Fill the oil tank through the charge lter ll port. This
charges the drive and conveyor pumps with oil to
prevent damage from dry start-up.
7. Start engine and check for leaks.
