DRIVING THE PAVER
The operator can operate the paver from either side of
the operator platform. Multiple switches and dials allow
the operators to control all paving functions. (Page 3-6)
DO NOT leave the operator station
unattended while the paver is in gear or in motion.
Operator must return joysticks to the neutral position
and turn the RUN/STOP switch to the STOP position
before leaving the operator platform.
Operator Control Station
The paver is typically operated from the left side
of the operator platform, but the paver can also be
operated from the right side for your convenience. A
steering and speed control box with dual joysticks are
located on each side of the platform. The main control
panel console is located in the center. (Figure 4-8)

The paver can only operate using one station at a time.
The operator must activate the side being used and
deactivate the other using the following procedure:
• Place both joysticks in the neutral position on the
side being deactivated. (Figure 4-9)
• Move the RUN/STOP switch to the STOP position.
• Operator can then move to the other operator
station to activate that side by simply ipping the
RUN/STOP switch to the RUN position.
• Follow the start-up procedure. (Page 4-4)
Ensure there are no people, obstacles
or other equipment in the path of the paver before
moving in either direction.

Steering and Speed Control
After activating the desired control station, you are ready
to drive the paver using the dual joysticks for steering
and speed control. It is important to move the joysticks
SLOWLY. The RUN/STOP switch applies parking brake
when set to the STOP position. (Figure 4-9)
Rapid counter-rotation in either
direction can result in the operator being thrown
from the machine and suffer personal injury or
death. Counter-rotation occurs if one joystick is in
the extreme forward position and the other is in the
extreme rear position while the machine is in gear
and moving. Make only slow adjustments to joysticks
or steering wheel to turn machine.
