LeeBoy 8616B Conveyor Paver 5-21
DO NOT ll the hydraulic oil reservoir
with new hydraulic oil until the strainer inside the ll
cap has been serviced.
12. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with ltered hydraulic oil.
The cold oil level should be about 1/2-inch below the
ll level black line on the sight gauge. (Figure 5-20)
13. Reinstall the hydraulic oil strainer ller cap and
tighten the three wingnuts securely.
14. Start the engine and check the hydraulic system for
possible leaks.
DO NOT use your hands on any
hydraulic hoses, ttings or system component when
checking for leaks. Serious personal injury can
result from an oil leak under high pressure. Oil can
be injected under the skin by high pressure. Protect
the eyes by wearing safety glasses.
Stop the engine immediately if any
hydraulic leak is noted. DO NOT start the engine until
any problem noted has been corrected.
Change Hydraulic Oil Strainer
The hydraulic oil strainer lter is mounted in the oil ll
opening under the ller cap. The sight glass on top
of the cap displays a red and green zone. When the
indicator moves into the red zone, it is time to change
the strainer lter. (Figure 5-21)
1. Remove the hydraulic oil ll cap.
2. Remove the three wingnuts securing the strainer.
3. Remove the strainer lter and gasket.
4. Install the new strainer lter and reinsert the spring
in the mounting head.
5. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with ltered hydraulic oil
until proper level is shown on the sight gauge.
(Figure 5-20)
6. Replace ll cap and tighten wingnuts securely.
DO NOT overll the hydraulic oil tank.
REPLACEMENT
PROCEDURES
2-Speed Motor Replacement
1. Drive paver onto a ramp to access the
undercarraige.
2. Refer to Page 7-6 for the track assembly diagram.
3. Label and disconnect all hydraulic hoses and plug
the cap ttings.
4. Remove the two bolts holding the motor to the
torque hub.
5. Slide motor out of torque hub.
1. Lubricate O-ring and install onto motor.
2. Slide motor into the torque hub.
3. Attach motor to torque hub with the two bolts.
4. Torque bolts to 120 ft. lbs. (162 N.m).
5. Clean all hoses and ttings.
6. Reconnect hoses.
7. Fill oil tank through the charge lter ll port to
recharge the motor with oil.
8. Start engine and allow it to run for about 10 minutes
before moving the the paver to prevent damage to
the new motor.
9. Check hydraulic oil level.
