.gcode The le extension for G-Code les
3D Printer Also referred to as additive manufacturing, is the process
of fabricating objects from 3D model data, through the deposition of a
material in accumulative layers.
ABS Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene thermoplastic. Usually extrudes at
230C with the Budaschnozzle and 245C with the LulzBot Hexagon Hot
End.
Acetone A colorless, volatile, ammable liquid ketone, (CH3)2CO, used as
a solvent for ABS.
Baud Rate Refers to the speed at which the host controller communicates
with the 3d Printer electronics.
CAD Computer Aided Design
Cura Cura is a cross-platform software package that combines a slicing
engine with a printer host interface.
Filament Plastic material in a “string” like form, as it is fed to the printer.
free/libre Free/Libre hardware and software can be thought of as “free as
in free speech, not just free as in free beer”, although most Free/Libre
software is available for no cost. Libre hardware designs can be copied,
modied and are usually available for download. Free/Libre software can
be used in a similar fashion.
GCODE The common name for the most widely used CNC programming
language.
HDPE High-density polyethylene.
