2.1 SAFETY
2.1.1 OPERATOR
 Read the instructions carefully and always keep the manual near your machine so you can refer to it
easily.
 This is a rotary machine: the wheels are potentially dangerous. Be very careful and keep your hands away
from the set of wheels.
 Two people are necessary to move the machine.
 When you activate the clamp shafts, keep your fingers outside the contact areas.
 Before touching the fuses, disconnect the mains cable.
 Make sure that the installation is perfectly water-tight.
 Before servicing the edger, check that the mains cable is unplugged.
2.1.2 MACHINE
 Make sure your voltage source corresponds to the voltage specified on the identification plate lo-
cated at the rear of the machine. If you are unsure of the type of current available in your premises, contact
your electricity company.
 If the machine is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect the power cords from
the wall outlet.
 The switch on the rear of the machine corresponds to the on/off function. Isolation from the grid is ensured
by the outlet cable plug.
 Disconnect the machine if there is an electrical storm or when the machine is left unattended
for a long period.
 Keep the machine away from any source of heat. A radiator is a heat source which can be detrimental
to the correct operation of the machine.
 The openings in the cover are designed to ventilate the machine and contribute to its normal ope-
ration. Do not obstruct them or cover them.
 Make sure that the machine is installed in a correctly ventilated room.
 Do not overload the wall sockets or plugs because you would increase the risk of fire or electric shock.
 Avoid using electric extension leads.
 Keep the machine away from any source of dust.
 Any servicing or work on the machine (with the cover open or closed) must be undertaken by a Briot tech-
nician.
 If the machine is used in closed-circuit mode, do not add additives of any kind to the tank water.
 The symbol defines a general hazard, and you will find it:
 on the controlled pump plug: risk of electrical shock,
 on the edging chamber: risk of bodily hazard,
 on the water inlet: risk if water inlet pressure is greater than 3 bar
LTO recommends installing a pressure reducer set to 3 bar upstream from the machine water inlet
circuit.
THE MANUFACTURER CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY ANY USE OF THE MACHINE
WHICH DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL OR DISPLAYED ON THE MACHINE
ITSELF.
