Figure 119 — Lower Bearing Inserts
This procedure presumes that the camshaft lower
bearing supports (saddles) are in place on the
cylinder head and held in position by guide
sleeves. If removed, the supports must be
marked and returned to their original locations
along with the respective bearing caps. If
required, remove the bearing supports using a
pry bar. Remove the No. 7 rearmost support
using a soft-faced mallet by tapping side to side.

1. Thoroughly clean around the unit injectors
that are to be removed and check to ensure
that the engine is completely drained of fuel.
2. Tag the injectors with the cylinder number
before removal from the cylinder head. If
new injectors are not being installed, it is

installed in the cylinders from which they
were removed.
