Oil Pump and Valve Housing
Removal
[219 MU, 219 NT]
If the engine is not being completely
disassembled for overhaul and only the oil pump
is to be replaced, instructions are provided in a
separate section entitled “OIL PUMP
REPLACEMENT (IN CHASSIS)” for removing
and installing the oil pump with the engine in the
chassis.
The inlet pipe with a front sump oil pan is longer
than the one with a rear sump oil pan. The
shorter pipe attaches to a bracket mounted on the
valve housing assembly. A strap clamp holds the
longer pipe on the valve assembly.
Oil pump screws were installed using Loctite
®
which increases the effort required to remove
them.
