In the case of
Aluminium rims

• Check the type of the wheel nuts (1).
• Check the wheel nuts are closed with the protective cap (2).
Prerequisites – The engine must not be running and must be secured against unauthor-
ised use;

Check the
wheel nuts
• Check the wheel nuts and the pressure
plates for damage.
• Replace any damaged wheel nuts or pres-
sure plates.
• Check the wheel nuts in the sequence (1-10)
for a tight fit – torque 650 N
m
(480 lbf ft).

Risk of accidents through incorrect wheel nuts!
Incorrect wheel nuts can come loose while driving and cause accidents.
You are only permitted to used wheel nuts from the initial equipment man-
ufacturer because the wheel nuts are matched to the diameter of the pres-
sure plate and the thread length of the respective aluminium rim.
