7.13.5 Taking oil samples
Reducing
the interval
• Under difficult operating conditions – at tropical or very hot locations –
you must halve the oil change interval.
Spare parts
and tools
– A hose with a connecting piece for a gauge port.
– A sample container 0.3 litres (0.08 gal).
– Receptacle, approx. 5 l (1.5 gal);

Prerequisites – The outriggers are retracted.

Select the sam-
pling location
To determine the usability of the oil, you must take a sample from the
hydraulic system. To do tha
t you must connect the hose with the connecting
piece to a gauge port.
The gauge port (1) is located on the control
block (2) at the
MLS marking. Oil can be
taken at the gauge port when e.g. the coun-
terweight lifting cylinders are moved to the
end stop.
• Clean the gauge port before connecting the
hose.
