PCX00048 barrel connector in conjunction with a long network cable such as the PWA00052 75m cable. It is also used with both
Mk 1 and Mk2 wi-fi systems to connect to the WAP.
Audio
Whilst you would expect touring companies to hold a substantial inventory of audio cables, MLA and MLA compact systems are
shipped with all the audio cables that you need to use with a system in common with the philosophy of ensuring that the system
is supplied with everything required to operate it. As MLA and MLA Compact systems can be operated with standard analogue
balanced audio or AES digital, all audio cables are AES specification. All connectors are genuine Neutrik 3-pin XLR NC3 XX series.
PWA00060 This is an 800mm (2.5ft) cable designed for use linking the audio feed between MLA or MLA Compact cabinets
in an array.
PWA00054 This is a 3m (10ft) cable for linking the audio between MLX or DSX subs.
PWA00058 Is the principal audio cable for feeding audio up to a flown array. It is 35m long and it will usually be loomed
with network, inclinometer and mains cables.
PWA00057 Whilst not strictly an audio cable this cable has identical specification to the 35m audio cable (PWA00058) but
is fitted with Neutrik NC3XX HD series which are fitted with a waterproof rubber sealing jacket. Rated at IP67 when mated with
the equivalent cassis connector, this series are specifically designed for outdoor use and are supplied for use connecting to the
inclinometer sensor on the MLA and MLA Compact flying grids. All audio connections are protected by the cabinet rain cowl but
the inclinometer sensor is completely exposed which is why the additional protection is required for the connectors.
Looming Cables
It is common practice to loom cables together where they are commonly used in conjunction with each other. The two examples
with MLA systems are the cabinet links and flown array connections.
Cabinet Links
There are two lengths of cables used to link cabinets, 800mm and 3m. The links comprise an ODU U-Net network cable and an
XLR audio cable. The connections for these are on the same panel so it makes very good sense to loom them together to speed
up rigging and de-rigging arrays. The cables should be joined at regular intervals leaving around 150-200mm (6 – 8”) free at each
end so it is easy to make connections.
