At this stage if you are flying from a single point add a second shackle to the required rigging point as calculated by the rigging
spreadsheet and switch the hoist chain from the rear point to the middle. It is advisable to do this with a second person to
support the grid as it will be completely unsupported without the chain attached.
Bring the first MLA up to the back of the grid still on its wheelboard. The V bumpers on the grid are designed to hold the grid at
precisely the right height to match up to the rigging on an MLA on its wheelboard.
Next remove the flying pins from the front position at each side of the grid. The front is the end closest to the ‘V’ bumpers. The
pins are removed by depressing the brass centre button and pulling out using the outer flange;-
