With the USB to RS485 adaptor and modified CAT5 cable connected to your PC, connect the unmolested RJ45 connector to the
weatherproof RJ45 socket located underneath the upper grill on the rear of the cabinet;-
Note that early MLX did not have the cabinet mounted RJ45 port. All MLX should have been modified to fit the socket but if this
hasn’t happened it will be necessary to remove the amplifier module to access the RJ45 port on the module itself.
On your PC Unzip the file “FirmwareUpdater_1.1.37_Setup.zip”. From the unzipped folder, run
“FirmwareUpdater_1.1.37_Setup.exe"to load the iPal update software onto your PC.
Make certain that the USB to RS485 adaptor is connected and working correctly and run the “Firmware updater
1.1.17"application. You will see the following window. Select “IPAL Firmware”;-
Navigate to select "IPAL Firmware Updates Ver. 1.3.9\ipal_1.3.9.bin";-
