Storing Machine in Freezing Conditions
Refer to “Transporting or Storing Machine in Freezing Conditions,” page 30-14, for procedure.
Blower Corrosion Protection
24-hour Storage:
Step 1: Follow the “Starting Procedure,” p
age 22-1.
Step 2: Mov
e Reverse Flow Control to Pressure position.
Step 3: Allow engine
to run for 10–15 minutes to completely dry out blower.
Step 4: Follow Shutdown Procedure, page 23
-1, and remove ignition key.
Longer-Term Storage:
If unit is to be stored under adverse conditions or for
extended periods of time, take the following additional
precautions to prevent damage.
Store blower in a clean, dry, heate
d (if possible) area.
Ensure inlet and discharge air ports are tightly covered to
prevent foreign material from entering.
Protect all exposed, non-painted surfaces against rust and corrosion.
Provide adequate protection to avoi
d accidental mechanical damage.
With blower operating, inject a rust inhibitor through the vacuum re
lief valve on the inlet side of blower to
prevent internal rusting.
To prevent rusting of gears, bearings, and
other components, oil tank may be filled with normal operating oil.
NOTICE: Befo
re running the blower, change blower oil.
