30-14 Transporting the Machine VX30/VX50 Gen3/ECO50 Vacuum Excavators
TRANSPORTING OR STORING MACHINE IN FREEZING CONDITIONS
NOTICE: Do not let water pump run dry. Ensure antifreeze level is visible at all times. Running the water pump
dry will result in water pump damage.
All vacuum excavators equipped with a
water system must be filled with antifreeze if being transported or
stored in freezing conditions. If not filled with antifreeze, the vacuum excavator is susceptible to system damage
from freezing water.
Step 1: Open drain
valve (1) and fully drain the water system.
Step 2: Remove plug (2) from strainer housing
and drain excess water.
Step 3: Close drain valve and
install strainer housing plug.
Step 4: Verif
y no tools are connected to the high pressure water hose.
Step 5: Place end of
high pressure water hose into water tank.
Step 6: Close Water
Supply ball valve (3).
WARNING: Never use the optional hot box water heater during transport. The flame can be blown out,
causing the unit to fill with fuel. If fuel ignites, damage to hot box or machine and bodily injury are
possible.
