Bearing Carrier and Propeller Shaft
1. Drain lubricant from gear housing; refer to “Drain-
ing and Inspecting Gear Housing Lubricant.”
2. Remove bolts and washers or self locking nuts if
applicable.

3. With propeller shaft horizontal, pull carrier to break
seal with gear housing. Remove bearing carrier/
propeller shaft components as an assembly, tak-
ing care not to lose cam follower or 3 metal balls
in end of propeller shaft.
4. Remove propeller shaft from bearing carrier.
