Insert the Ink IC chip.
• Insert the Ink IC chip with its metal part on the left. Inserting an Ink IC chip with its wrong side
inward may damage the Ink IC chip or cause it to malfunction.
• Do not touch the metal part of the Ink IC chip. The static electricity generated when you touch the
metal part may damage the Ink IC chip and/or cause reading errors due to transfer of dirt to or
development of scratches on the chip surface.
• See "Order of Ink Bottles" (P. 6-5) for setting the order of ink bottles.
• The Ink IC chip has information on items such as ink color, remaining amount of ink, expiration date.
When setting an ink bottle, insert the Ink IC chip included in the ink bottle package into the Ink IC
chip insertion port provided on the ink cover.
• If the Ink IC chip not meant for a particular ink bottle is inserted, it may cause poor image quality.
• A mark indicating color information is pasted on the Ink IC chip.
