Ink bottle lamp status Description
Off No error
Blinks in red Only a small amount of ink is remaining (near end) or the ink is one month past its
expiration date.
It needs to be replaced soon.
Lights in red Ink bottle cannot be used either because it is empty or because of some ink error.
Ink bottle error
Rapidly blinks in red Two months have passed since the expiration date so this ink bottle can't be used.
Lights in green Indicates that the ink is being supplied.
When using a 4-color ink set, this machine supplies the ink from the ink bottle having
the nearest ink expiration date.

This occurs when the green lamp is lit and the red lamp is flashing at the same time.
Ink expiration date
The ink bottles have an expiration date.
An ink bottle can be used for two months after the expiration date written on the ink bottle. They however
need to be replaced after three months.
When the ink becomes unusable, the ink bottle lamp blinks in red, indicating that the ink needs to be
replaced.
Ex) If the expiration date is March 2019
March: Usable
April: Usable (ink bottle lamp blinks in red)
May: Unusable (ink bottle lamp rapidly blinks in red)
Ink End and Ink Near End
The ink near end notification is provided by the ink bottle lamp blinking in red. It is recommended to replace
the ink bottle as soon as possible.
The ink end notification is provided by the ink bottle lamp lit in red. The ink bottle needs to be replaced
immediately.
Storage of Ink Bottles
Pay attention to the following points when storing ink bottles.
• Store in a place with low humidity and no direct sunlight.
• Do not drop or smash the ink bottle.
• Avoid contamination or electrostatic discharge of the Ink IC chip.
• Always store the ink bottle and Ink IC chip together.
