5. Push the O2 flush button to inflate the manual bag.
6. Verify that the value displayed on the PAW gauge ranges from 20 to 40 cmH2O.
7. Pull the APL valve and observe the reading on the airway pressure gauge to verify that the
pressure immediately decreases to 0±2 cmH2O.
8. Turn the APL valve control knob to SP (minimum).
9. Set the O2 flow to 3 L/min. Turn any other gases off.
10. Verify that the value displayed on the PAW gauge is less than 5 cmH2O.
11. Push the O2 flush button continuously. Verify that the value displayed on the PAW gauge
does not exceed 10 cmH2O.
12. Release the O2 flush button and turn the O2 flow control knob to the minimum flow
position. Verify that the value displayed on the PAW gauge does not decrease below 0
cmH2O.
13. Adjust the Auto/Manual switch to Auto.
14. Verify that the ring light of the APL valve is off and the current mode displayed on the
screen is the auto mode.
5.10.3 Patient Circuit Heating Test
1. Ensure that the system is AC powered and standby, the patient circuit remains in place, and
the heating module has been working for more than 10 minutes.
2. Select Setup > Service > Data Monitors > Power System to access the Data Monitors
screen.
3. Verify that the actual values displayed for Heating Probe T1 Temp and Heating Probe T2
Temp range from 50°C to 70°C.
4. Return to standby mode.
5.10.4 Sample Gas Return Test
1. Connect a quick connector to the sample gas return port, verify that the snap hook of the
sample gas exhaust port is self-locking.
2. Plug the tube of quick connector.
3. Set the system to perform an automatic leak test.
4. Follow instructions on the screen for the test and verify that the leak test is passed.
5.11 Active AGSS Check
1. Connect the vacuum hose to the EVAC port or vacuum port of the healthcare facility and
turn on the waste gas disposal system.
2. Exit the standby mode. Select Setup > Service > Data Monitors > VPM > AGSS Pump
Rate to view the hospital's AGSS pump rate. Verify that the pump rate meets the
manufacturer's requirement: 25–50 L/min at low flow.
3. Verify that the AGSS flow on the status display is between the MIN and MAX lines.
