Chapter 2 Preparations
1. Installing / Removing Internal Options
This section describes the instructions for installing supported optional devices and precautions.
If you did not purchase any optional device requiring installation, you may skip this section.
Important
Optional devices described in this chapter may be installed or removed by any
user. However, NEC does not assume any
liability for damage to optional
devices or the server or malfunctions of the server resulted from installation by
the user. NEC recommends you ask your service representative for
installing or
removing any optional devices.
Use only the devices and cables specified by NEC. You will be charged to repair
damages, malfunctions, and failures caused by the use of any devices or cables
not specified for use with this server even within the warranty period.
Important
It is required to set the maintenance mode to prevent Alert Report during the
operation when mounting optional products/replacing components.
Clear the
maintenance mode setting after the operations.
The maintenance mode can be
set and cleared from Web Console.
Ensure to clear the maintenance mode after the operations. If
it is not cleared,
this setting is cleared automatically 6 minutes (default) after the setting.
Alert notification is sustained if you are under contract for the
maintenance of
Report Service. Note that a failure occurred befo
re the setting is cleared
automatically is not reported if the
maintenance mode is not cleared after the
operation.
