1.15 Extra Battery for RAID Controller
If a RAID Controller (NE3303-173/H001) is installed with a battery, you can avoid data loss caused by accidents
including temporary blackout during Write Back operation. The model of the battery to be used depends on
RAID Controller.
For NE3303-173, use NE3303-153 extra battery
For NE3303-H001, use NE3303-H002 extra battery
1.15.1 Handling precautions
Observe the following when using extra battery. Ignoring these precautions may cause damage to your property
(such as data or other devices).
Use the battery dedicated to the RAID Controller you are using.
The battery is a very delicate electronic device. Before installation, touch the metal frame part of the server
to discharge the static electricity from your body.
Do not drop or bump the battery.
For recycling and disposing of the battery, refer to the Users Guide that comes with it.
1.15.2 Installation
Ask your service representative who is authorized by NEC to install the component. The service representative
will install the component, and transfer the server to you after making sure that the server can operate normally.
