Optional Flash Units
(Speedlights)
The camera supports
the
Nikon Creative Lighting 5ystem
(CL5)
and
can be used
with
CL5-compatible flash units. Optional flash units
can be attached directly
to
the
camera accessory shoe
as
described
below. The accessory shoe
is
equipped
with
a safety lock
for
flash
units
with
a locking pin, such
as
the
5B-900, 5B-800, 5B-600, and
5B-400.

accessory shoe cover.

Mount
the
flash
unit
on
the
accessory shoe.

for details. The built-in flash will
not
fire
when
an
optional
flash
unit
is
attached.
B The Sync Terminal
A sync cable can be connected
to
the
sync
terminal
as
required. Do
not
connect
another
flash
unit
via a sync cable
when
performing
rear-
curtain sync flash
photography
with
a flash
unit
mounted
on
the
camera accessory shoe.
