4.2.1 Recording Mode
Both time-lapse recording mode and event-driven recording mode are provided, and the
images recorded according to each recording mode are stored separately. The user can limit
the time-lapse recording period. If the user sets up the maximum time for time-lapse storage
as 24 hours, the DVR starts recording over the older video once the DVR has 24 hours of
time-lapse video. The other storage space will be used for storing video of events. Refer to
the 3.5 Configuring for Recording ─ Limit the Time-Lapse Recording Period section for
details. In the time-lapse recording and event-driven recording, two different modes (Mode
1, Mode 2) can be programmed. Each recording mode has two different speeds and image
qualities during its recording schedule. As an example, an effective use of these two modes
is when working hours and closing hours have different recording setups. The programming
of these two modes may be applied to each event action: alarm-in, motion detector, text-in or
video loss.
4.2.2 Recording Schedule
Time-lapse recording and event-driven recording are scheduled individually. Refer to the
3.5 Configuring for Recording for details of scheduling. The DVR can select the type of
recording (No Recording, Mode 1 or Mode 2) at 30-minute intervals for each camera, and
also have the different recording schedule and recording type for each day including holidays.
When the time-lapse recording and event-driven recording periods coincide, the DVR
executes event-driven recording in the case of event detection, and time-lapse recording for
normal (non-event) recording.
4.2.3 Pre-Event Recording
Using pre-event recording, the DVR stores not only recorded images after event detection but
also images recorded before event detection. To record pre-event images, set up event-
driven recording for the target event, and enable pre-event recording. Pre-Event recording
period, speed and image quality can be set to each camera individually. Refer to the 3.5
Configuring for Recording ─ Enable/Disable Pre-Event Recording section for details of
setting up the pre-event recording.
4.2.4 Audio Recording
The DVR can record audio with an image. Refer to the 3.5 Configuring for Recording ─
Set up Audio Recording section for details of setting up the audio.
4.2.5 Deleting All Recorded Data
The user may delete all recorded data on the hard disk and initialize the hard disk. In the
Configuration menu, select Clear All Data The Admin password is required. If the
password matches, a dialog box confirming data deletion will appear. Select Yes button and
press
ENTER to confirm the deletion. The DVR reboots automatically after deleting the
recorded data, and the deletion event will remain in the system log.
