After you select the clinical option/preset, the system calibrates the transducer,
enables the transducer for operation, and updates system status to reflect
the transducer type and the preset you selected.
Setting the Default Transducer and Preset
You can set a default transducer and Tissue Specific preset so that each time
the system is turned on, that transducer and preset are initiated automatically.
The system selects the default transducer regardless of which receptacle it is
connected to. If the default transducer is not connected when the system is
turned on, the system initiates the transducer connected to the left-most
connector and the first available preset for that transducer.
1. Touch Preset/Transducer.
2. Select the transducer and preset that you want as the default selections.
3. Touch Set Default. The system displays a message that confirms your
selections.
Clinical Options and Transducers
A clinical option, available for one or more transducers, optimizes the system
for a specific application.
The clinical options, or applications, for each transducer available for the system
are listed here.
Use only transducers that are approved by Philips for use with your Philips
ultrasound system. In the United States, the FDA 510(k) regulatory clearance
for use of the product is applicable only when Philips-manufactured transducers
are connected to the system.
The following table lists the transducers that are compatible with your ultrasound
system.
