10 Transesophageal Transducers
A transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) study is performed with a transducer
mounted in a gastroscope, which is positioned in the esophagus or stomach.
TEE transducers offer images that are unobstructed by lungs and ribs, making
them important diagnostic tools for conditions that transthoracic
echocardiography cannot adequately image.
All transesophageal transducers are rated minimum IPX1 (control area) / IPX7
(endoscope area) in accordance with IEC 60529.
The system supports the following TEE transducers:
• S7-2omni
• S7-3t
• S8-3t
• T6207
• T6H (Omni III)
• X7-2t
NOTES
• Two Omni TEE transducers can be used with the iE33 Ultrasound System:
the S7-2omni transducer and the T6H (Omni III) transducer, which
requires a connector adapter to connect to the iE33 system. These
transducers are functionally identical except for the connectors.
Information that refers to the S7-2omni transducer also applies to the
T6H (Omni III) transducer, except for connecting the transducer to the
system.
• The X7-2t TEE transducer can be used with the iE33 Ultrasound system.
It is similar to the S7-2omni transducer but it has gray controls and a
square sensor face. The X7-2t transducer can be rotated electronically
using controls on the control panel and the buttons on the handle.
• Two TEE transducers can also be used with the iE33 Ultrasound System:
the S7-3t transducer and the T6207 transducer, which requires a
connector adapter to connect to the iE33 system. These transducers are
