2 Description of the AXC 3050 controller
2.1 General description of the controller
The AXC 3050 is a compact controller with integrated Ethernet and Axioline F local bus con-
nections. As the head of an Axioline station, the controller provides the function of a control-
ler. The station is created by connecting Axioline modules to the controller. The Axioline F
local bus (referred to as local bus in this document) is implemented by arranging bus base
modules side-by-side.
The controller consists of an electronics module (1) and a bus base module (2).

IEC 61131 control perfor-
mance
The AXC 3050 is consistently configured and programmed in accordance with IEC 61131
using the PC Worx automation software. PC Worx can be operated via the network (Ether-
net). The powerful processor can be programmed in all five IEC 61131 programming lan-
guages and ensures quick control task processing.
Integrated Ethernet con-
nection
The integrated Ethernet connections provide Ethernet connectivity. Throughout the Ether-
net network, the controller can be accessed via Ethernet and TCP/IP or UDP. The controller
has three fully implemented Ethernet connections.
Integrated communication functions enable direct and effective data exchange via Ether-
net. The Ethernet network provides universal options for communicating with the controller.
Using the IP_USEND and IP_URCV communication blocks, information, e.g., necessary
coupling variables, can be exchanged between controllers via Ethernet. This enables dis-
tributed, modular automation solutions to be configured.
When using the AX OPC server provided in the AUTOMATIONWORX Software Suite, con-
troller data is available in the Ethernet network in a standardized format and can be used for
the different visualization packages.
