4000-SERIES START-UP PROCEDURES

Field start-up should be performed by a qualified technician. The technician is responsible for assuring that
all of the items on this checklist are properly installed and operating. Upon completion, a copy of this form
should be returned to Rapid Engineering LLC using the contact information listed in the header.
A. General Inspection- Fan and Motor Sheaves
__ Fan and motor sheaves secured tightly to the shaft.
__ Sheaves are properly aligned.
__ Belts are tensioned correctly.
__ Fan set bolts are tight.
__ Bearing set screws are tight.
__ Bearing mounting bolts are tight.

B. General Inspection- Gas and Electric Services
__ Wires at terminal strips are tight.
__ The gas piping has been purged of debris.
__ Fuel is: (circle one) Natural Gas Propane
__ For indoor air handlers only, the vent lines are piped outdoors.
__ All vent caps are installed. (Vent line must be run separately. Do not combine with other vent lines.)

Falling Hazard
Use proper safety equipment
and practices to avoid falling.
Do not use any part of
equipment as support.
WARNING
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, injury or property damage.
Burn Hazard
Allow equipment to cool
before service.
Internal components of
equipment may still be hot
after operation.
Explosion Hazard
Leak test all components of
gas piping before operation.
Gas can leak if piping is not
installed
properly.
Do not high pressure test gas
piping with air handler
connected.
Electrical Shock
Hazard
Disconnect electric
before service or
maintenance.
More than one
disconnect switch
may be required to
disconnect electric
from air handler.
Air handler must be
connected to a
properly grounded
electrical source.
Protect electric
system from water.
Severe Injury Hazard
Do not enter air
handler while in
operation.
Air Handler may start
automatically.
Do not operate with
door open.
Installation, operation
and service must be
done by a trained
technician only.
DANGER
Failure to follow these instructions can result
in death, electrical shock or injury.
