Bin Pressure Sensor Calibration
The Viper Pro field computer is capable of monitoring pressures in PSI [kPa] with the OmniSeed system. To
ensure that the field computer properly monitors the air cart bins, each pressure transducer should be
recalibrated at least once a day to ensure the sensor is monitoring pressure in the bins correctly.
Note: The air cart bin pressures are dependent upon ambient conditions. Changing weather patterns or
large variations in air temperature may cause the bin pressure sensor to display false errors during
seeding operations.
If the system begins to display false bin pressure alarms during an operation, especially if weather
patterns or temperature varies significantly from the previous calibration, recalibrate the bin
pressure sensor.
To calibrate a bin pressure sensor:
1. Touch the Cal field for the bin pressure sensor to be calibrated.
2. Use the on-screen keypad to enter a value of ‘0’ for the sensor calibration.
3. Touch the AIR button to the left of the appropriate bin pressure sensor to set the entered value.
Note: If the Viper Pro detects a fan speed when the pressure calibration is set, the new value will not be
saved by the field computer. Be sure any fans monitored by the OmniSeed system are toggled off
before calibrating the bin pressure sensor.
4. Touch OK to return to the CAN Controller Status screen.
