Chapter 4
58 OmniSeed™ Viper Pro™ Installation & Operation Manual
4. Select the direction of the opener offset from the implement pivot point.
To determine the offset direction, at the drill pivot point and facing toward the front of the vehicle, are the
openers in front (fore) or behind (aft) of the drill pivot position? Select the direction of the fore/aft offset.
5. Enter the number of sections on the drill.
The number of sections programmed into the field computer for the OmniSeed system is critical for proper
operation of the system. Each granular product applied from the air car should be counted as one section
and each liquid application section for each liquid product must also be counted as one section (refer to
Figure 3 on page 58).
Note: If liquid sections will be used with the OmniSeed system, it is highly recommended to draw a
diagram of the air seeder implement before beginning to set up the sections on the field computer.
Creating a diagram for your specific implement configuration may help significantly with
programming section widths and center points on the field computer later.
6. Touch the Next button on the Drill Setup screen and proceed to the Section Settings section on page 59 to
continue the OmniSeed system configuration on the field computer.
For Example:
An air seeder system with three granular bins should be programmed with 3 sections at the full width of the
seeder implement.
If two liquid products are added to the previous air seeder system and each liquid product has five sections,
the OmniSeed system should now be programmed with 13 sections (one section for each of the three
granular products (full implement width) and five sections for each of the liquid products - see Figure 3 on
page 58).
