7.2 Control of Device Functions
The user can change individual functions and messages in a 7SJ62 while the device
is in-service. Some examples are given above, including erasing saved information
(Sub-section 7.1.1.5) and setting/resetting counters and limits (Sub-sections 7.1.2.2
and 7.1.3.4). In this section, three other control capabilities are discussed. They are
correcting the date and time, changing the settings group, and affecting information at
the SCADA interface during test operations.
7.2.1 Display and Set Date and Time
The 7SJ62 device can be connected to an external synchronization signal, binary in-
put or use the internal RTC for time and date stamping.
Time Status Besides the display of date and time, the status of these readings is also provided. The
text of the status display can have the appearances given in Table 7-2, under regular
conditions of time control.
The text symbols, or "status bits”, for the time status have the following meanings:

sub-menu and in all messages stamped with the date and time. The year number and
the values of the status bits "time invalid" and "time malfunction" determine the repre-
